2007 The National Stroke Strategy is published.

2008 The Kurashiki Prehospital Stroke Scale is developed for identifying thrombolytic candidates in acute ischemic stroke

POLICY

The NHS Right Care Stroke Pathway was published and tasked commissioners with improving services for stroke patients in their area.

January 2019 NHS long-term plan published identified stroke as a clinical priority.

In 2012 - Helsinki model of stroke unit is established as a best logistic structure to use thrombolytic therapy in acute ischemic stroke. DTN [door to needle time] is reduced to below 20 minutes.
